As a result of the current trend towards rapid globalization, rivalry
amongst cities in the world is becoming more and more fierce. Cities at
present, consisting of various functions and changing from moment to
moment, are competing to become more attractive in order to bring in more
and better resources (capital, enterprises, talented people, tourist,
etc). This GPCI illustrates the kind of city that is most attractive from
the original point of view of the current global rivalry. Hopefully the
GPCI will provide hints for improving each city in the world interested in
becoming more attractive within their own circumstances.
