Founded in 1982, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences Press (SASSP) has emerged as a major publisher in the humanities and social sciences in China. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality academic works, serving China’s leading think tanks, and striving to build a first-class publishing base for think tank outcomes. We also serve as one of the recommended publishers for the National Social Science Fund of China (NSSFC).

With a rich academic background, SASSP focuses on two key sectors - think tank insights and academic studies. Rooted in China’s contemporary development, our think tank publications, including the Contemporary International Think Tank Translation Series, Belt and Road Research Series and “SASS Think Tank Series,” are aimed at sharing findings and insights on the unique path of China’s modernization from think tanks home and abroad. Our academic series, including the History of World and the Chinese Studies Series, are crafted to foster intercultural dialogue, as well as to encourage the progress and dissemination of scholarly work.

SASSP also places a strong emphasis on advancing international cultural exchange through an extensive translation initiative. We have established partnerships with prestigious global academic publishers. By introducing works from internationally renowned authors such as Zygmunt Bauman, Christian Henriot, and Marie-Claire Bergère, we offer a diverse array of international perspectives and academic resources.
